To choose the right level of insulation

At Portes de Garage Pro-fix Bélair Inc., we can help you select the appropriate level of insulation based on how you plan to use your garage. If your garage is detached from your home or if you use it as a workshop or leisure space, we highly recommend the most insulated and airtight garage door in the Garaga product line:

R‑16: This is the highest level of insulation offered by Garaga for residential garage doors. We recommend this level of insulation for attached garages to ensure both the garage, and the home retain heat in the winter and stay cool in the summer. It’s especially ideal for garages located beneath a main living space (e.g., a bedroom).

R‑12: At this performance level, the Stratton 138 and Acadia 138 doors are injected with polyurethane foam and equipped with triple-contact Interlok joints. This level of insulation is recommended for detached garages. R-12 insulation will also keep your workshop at a comfortable temperature, allowing you to work in your garage year-round.

R‑10: This level of performance is achieved through a combination of a 2-inch-thick steel door and an expanded white polystyrene panel bonded to the interior surfaces. Additionally, an InterStop™ weather seal is tightly fitted between the panels to prevent cold air infiltration, and kiln-dried pine end blocks provide effective thermal breaks. With its unique construction, Garaga’s Triforce model is a cost-effective alternative to R-12.

Non-insulated: This option features a 24-gauge galvanized steel door with no insulation. We recommend this door (Uniforce model) for sheds or detached garages that do not require insulation. The California model also falls into this category and is ideal for those looking to transform their backyard into a welcoming outdoor living space for guests.
